Do you struggle with learning how to start an online business?

Why Is Google Important For Affiliate Marketing To Rank High

I could have asked what is Google? But Google has become a considerably large icon in the lives of affiliate marketers. So much so, that we refer to Google as a person in terms of who vs. what. So instead, I will ask why is google important for affiliate marketing to rank high on page one?

According to Wikipedia: Google is a technology company that operates in internet products and services. Google is a top-ranking search engine with 3 others following Apple, Facebook, and Amazon, which makes Google one of the top four technology companies.

Who Developed Google?

Larry page, sergey brin google is born

Larry Page and Sergey Brin used google as a search project while pursuing their Ph.D. at Stanford University in 1996.

These two young men developed a page rank system known as an algorithm. There was a third person involved, Scott Hassan, who wrote most of the code for this algorithm, but he struck out on his own before Google became a company.

Larry and Scott wanted a better way to find relevant information on the Internet to present to you. So they developed Google, which has continued to evolve today into the giant it is.

These Google founders have had their share of problems and reportedly a few shady deals. But to an Affiliate Marketer, in the business realm, Google is of the utmost importance. We research, read, and write with the Google algorithm in mind.

Why Is Google Important, And How Does The Algorithm Work?

Google uses google bots, otherwise known as spiders, to crawl all of the information on the Internet. These tiny spiders use a set of keywords to determine how relevant the information is to the public.

The algorithm sends out the Google bots to crawl billions of pages when you search for a topic. Google is determined to give us the best information related to our search.

Did you pick up on the phrase billions of pages produced by you and me on the Internet? Which leads us to why Google is important.

As Affiliate Marketers, we write articles to give information to the public. Each one of us who has websites could write a short sentence or two about the product we are promoting and publish it.

But Google is protecting you as the consumer by requiring us as writers to produce content that is beneficial to you.

Let me expand on this just a bit. You are looking for baseball gloves for your child. You type into the Google search engine “best baseball glove for a 9-year-old.” If Google didn’t care about you, they would show you a ton of baseball gloves and a bunch of sites with just 2 sentences telling you to buy their glove.

But instead, the Google bots (little spiders) go out and search for the best information to give you so you can make an informed decision based on your search.

Now that we understand Google spiders, we need to talk about affiliate marketing to understand better why Google is important to the marketer.

What Is Affiliate Marketing?

In simple terms, affiliate marketing is when someone promotes another website’s product or service through text links, banners, social media, or any other means.

The site owner receives a commission from every sale made. In return, the owner of the promoted website gets more traffic to their site.

This process is very similar to what happens when you shop online. When you click on a link on a webpage to visit another site, you are actually clicking on a banner ad. The merchant pays the webmaster for each time you click on their banner.

These links are called backlinks.

Why Are SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Backlinks Important To Google?

A backlink is simply a hyperlink pointing back to your site. It gives Google a clue that there is valuable information on your site.

The reason this matter is because Google wants to give you the best information possible. They want to provide the best results for you.

If you were searching for a new car, you wouldn’t want to drive off a cliff. That doesn’t mean it will happen, but you’ll get bad results if you do.

You see, Google has many different algorithms that work together to find the most helpful information for you. Many of these algorithms work together to form a PageRank.

What Is PageRank On Google?

PageRank is a number assigned to each page on the Internet. The higher the number, the better the page is ranked in Google.

Google assigns a number between 0 and 10 to each page on the Internet. Pages with high numbers are considered more relevant than those with lower numbers.

With a better understanding of a small portion of Google, let’s go back to Affiliate Marketers.

Why Is Google Important For Affiliate Marketers

Why is Google important has more than one definition for the consumer? Affiliate Marketers are scrambling to get ranked on page one in position one with each article they write.

If an article is on page one, Google will show relevant information to all people searching for the subject in that article. And since Affiliate Marketing is about making money online, each time someone looks at a post, that post has a higher chance of making money.

Consequently, all affiliate marketers want to make Google happy; at the same time, they want to make the consumer happy also.

But before we talk about how to make Google happy, let’s get a clear understanding of what a keyword is.

What Is A Keyword?

Keywords are words used by consumers to describe products or services. These keywords help Google understand exactly what is in the article.

For example, if you wanted to sell cars, you would use the word “car” as a keyword. If you wanted to sell shoes, you might use the word “shoes.”

How Does Google Use Keywords?

When someone searches for something on Google, Google uses keywords to determine which websites to display in its search results.

For example, if someone searched for “cars,” Google would look through thousands of pages on the Internet to find the most relevant ones.

It would then rank them based on the number of times a person typed in “cars” into the search bar. So, if you have a website that sells cars, you want to be sure that you’re using the right keywords so Google will show your post to interested people.

OK, so we now understand how Google works what affiliate marketing is; in addition, we understand backlinks and keywords. It is time to find out how to make Google happy.

How Do You Make Google Happy?

The first step is to create unique and interesting content, which means generating original articles.

Once you’ve created unique content, there are a few things required to make Google happy. One of those is backlinks. Links are basically text that tells others where to find your site.

Links are very important because they tell Google that your site has valuable information, not to mention they let Google know you feel good about your work.

The content, needs to have keywords, which you can find with a keyword research tools like Jaaxy.

Keywords attract those little spiders and find the right information to send to the right people.

The answer to “how to keep Google happy” is to keep your audience happy. Write valuable, keyword-rich content that is helpful to your readers. Throw in backlinks and keywords, and Google will show your post to the world by ranking it on page one of page one.

Why Is Google Important For High Ranking?

Because ranking high is exciting and exhilarating, along with the fact that high rankings for an affiliate marketer bring in traffic, thus you make money.

But how do you keep that thrill going? You continue to write valuable content with proper keywords that Google likes.

You write informational articles that help the consumer solve a problem. Such as the example I used on baseball gloves for kids. Dad searched for keywords to solve his problem, which were in your article.

The article didn’t just say this glove is right for you; instead, it talked about what the glove did, the benefits, the reasons his son would love this glove, how it would help him improve, and how it could increase his chances of expanding on a baseball career.

The little spider bots looked at your article and decided the information was relevant to help dad.

Google is important for you as an Affiliate Marketer. Google is your friend; if you follow the algorithm’s rules it has set down for you, then Google will reward you with page one ranking. No one would ever see your content without search engines, namely, Google. No traffic is no money!
