Oh my, a travel MLM? My husband and I love to travel, and we love cruises. Is inCruises the dream we have been looking for? Can we travel and make money at the same time? How exciting is that? To find out, let’s do an inCruises review to see if this company is every traveler’s dream or if this MLM company a scam?

To clarify, I want to let you know I will be reviewing the MLM part of inCruises, not the actual vacation plans or deals, although I will talk about it a bit.

Who Is inCruises

Michael Hutchison founded inCruises in 2015; at the present time, he is the Chief Executive Officer for inCruises. Yet, another key point, inCruises is a privately owned company backed by private equity.

Michael Hutchison was “Tony Robbins’ VP of Worldwide Sales and Marketing (1987-1994). He is Best selling author of Speaking Mastery, Stop It!” So as you can see, Michael Hutchinson is no slouch.

Since the beginning of inCruises, Michael has accomplished some incredible milestones, which are:

  • Expanded his cruises worldwide
  • Began a relationship with Trust My Travel  (to ensure financial protection of your cruise booking)
  • Won the Diamond Network Award (which acknowledges a direct selling company’s achievements)
  • And in 2019 developed a mobile app that allows members to book cruises right from their phone.

What Is inCruises?

inCruises is a travel network company where anyone can become a member, for the purpose of, cruising to destinations all over the world at an incredible discount rate. As a matter of fact, in 2020, inCruises offered cruises in over 178 countries. They are an MLM-based company with partners who earn money through a downline of other partners who join under them. We will talk about the compensation plan for an MLM partner a bit.

I have included a link to a quick video that talks about inCruises membership and partnership.

What Is MLM (Multilevel Marketing)?

An MLM, or Multilevel Marketing company, is a type of business that relies on its sales force to recruit additional salespeople below them, thus creating a “downline.” These salespeople then receive commissions on their own sales, as well as the sales of people they’ve recruited into the MLM.

While some people view MLMs as pyramid schemes or get-rich-quick opportunities that make up for their low pay with quick money from one’s own downline, others use MLMs to make an active income.

While others work hard at their MLM business and never break even, so to be on the safe side, it’s important to do your research before deciding whether or not an MLM is right for you.

What Products Does inCruises Offer You?

inCruises offer you cruises. Even as a partner, you get cruises. Many of the MLM promotional videos state that as a partner, you are better off to keep your money in a savings account with inCruises and use it for cruises. They give incentives for this venture. They double and triple your money while it sits there, making interest for them. Now they do operate worldwide, and they have expanded tremendously in the past six years.

How To Become An inCruises Partner?

Membership is different than a partner. A member pays $100 a month to take cruises at discounted rates. That $100 multiplies over a year, and you can get a pretty good deal on discounted cruises.

A partner is a part of the MLM company. It is like all other MLM companies. You earn money by building a downline of people doing what you are doing. What you will do is cold call people, hit up your friends and family, post on social media daily or more often, hand out flyers in parking lots, and work all the time.

Price To Join

To become a member it is $100. But to become a Partner in the MLM portion it will cost you $100 per month plus $195 initially and $95 annually.

This screenshot explains how to become a partner:

incruises review explination of partner

Now that’s a bit confusing. But most MLM programs are set up to confuse the partner and sound perfect. It states that some of the money you make will go back into booking a cruise for yourself.

inCruises Compensation Plan

5 Ways An inCruises Partner Can Earn Money

Instant Bonus$20-$50$20 when you enroll a new member
Residual Compensation$5$5 for each member of your qualified partner’s signup
Weekly Matching Bonuses100% matchBonus for your downline who are qualified
Monthly Leadership Bonuses$300-$100,000Revenue from your downline when they meet requirements
Global New Production Bonuses5%Make 5% of what your qualified team did the previous month.
I want to note that each of these bonuses and matches is only if your team qualifies. A qualified downline must maintain a certain volume of members and downline partners each month. If I understand this correctly, the 5 members you and your downline sign up for each month start over each new month. So the 5 that you signed up for in one month do not carry over. You have to sign up 5 new members each month, and so do your downline to qualify for you to make all of this money.

Pros And Cons From inCruises Review

Let’s look at some pros and cons to help put this review in perspective.

PROS

  • You are only marketing one product which, is cruises.
  • The company is only 6 years old; in other words, you are getting in with a new company.
  • A partner gets a $50 bonus for each member to inCuises they sell per month.
  • incruises is the world’s largest membership cruise club that is subscription-based

CONS

  • The bonus for selling cruises starts over each month, but you have to maintain 5 per month
  • You can only become a partner if another partner invites you
  • Some of the money you earn has to be used to book cruises.; on the contrary, you can’t pay bills with it.
  • The cost to become a partner is $195 the first month and $95 annually after that
  • You have to pay a $100 membership fee each month as a partner
  • The compensation plan is complicated
  • Making money is dependent on qualifiers; such as, you have to keep certain qualifications each month to continue to earn

Is inCruises A Scam?

No inCruises is not a scam. A scam is a dishonest organization, with that in mind, inCruises is not dishonest, and setting up their selling and promotional plan based on an MLM program is not dishonest. Although, by the same token, the claims of how much one can make are deceptive. But on the other hand, there are a handful of people who do make top dollar.

So, in reality, an MLM company is not a scam, even though you may not make money.

Is inCruises MLM A Pyramid Scheme?

To answer this, I have to go off of the definition of a pyramid scheme. According to Wikipedia: A pyramid scheme is a business model that recruits members via a promise of payments or services for enrolling others into the scheme, rather than supplying investments or sale of products. With this in mind, I have to say inCruises is not a pyramid scheme, be as it may, it does closely resemble one, as do all MLM companies.

The Problem With MLM Companies

According to an FTC Government file, an MLM operation does not have a clearly defined definition. It calls MLM’s a “product-based pyramid schemes” and compares it to an illegal chain letter. You know the letters you receive in the mail, it says to put a dollar in an envelope with a copy of the letter and send one to 10 people. Then if you do this, you will make a ridiculous amount of money.

The FTC Government document also states that MLM “is inherently flawed, unfair, and deceptive.

My Recommendation Regarding inCruises Review

I do not recommend the inCruises MLM program to make an income. Only 25% of MLM participants turn a profit. Please note that this says “turn a profit.” It does not say that 25% make money. After you take out expenses, very few make money.

inCruises is a typical MLM company. Although you only have one product to sell, cruises, it is still a tier system. The number of people in an MLM company who make $100,000 or more is 0.05%. For you to make high-dollar money, it is dependent on your downline. If your downline does not keep up their end of the deal, you don’t make money. Your downline also has to meet certain qualifications.

Complicated System

inCruises Review-Every Travelers Dream or An MLM Scam pin

The system is complicated for a reason. The numbers of potential income look good; with this in mind, the chances of you making the larger income are very slim, not to mention that parts of your income are cruise money. So if you need a job to make money to pay the bills, you will not get all of your money. Important to realize, if you need to make money, chances are you will not have the money to pay the extras that a vacation requires, like flights, food in airports, tips, and heaven forbid, medical incidents.

The whole process is confusing; in general, the bottom line is most people do not make money promoting an MLM company. Only a few at the top make enough money to make it worth their while.

I have given you the best information I could find on the inCruises MLM program. It was confusing to me; at the same time, it appears some of the compensation plans have changed a bit. Regardless, the important part to take away from this review is all MLM companies are close to the same. Only a very few make any money, and the ones at the bottom don’t even break even with all the time they put into building this business.

    • Hi Tracee, Can you please elaborate on your comment?

The Trustpilot reviews have a rating of 4.3 but the last 5 reviews state that it changed in 2022. Distributors and members are unhappy with the change and go so far as to call it a Ponzi Scheme. The last 5 ratings go along the same lines as what I researched and found. MLM companies, in general, are not a good way for someone to make a profit.
