Blog Commenting And SEO – Why Is It Important?

Have you seen those boxes at the end of a blog post where you can leave a comment? Maybe you have wondered why it is there or how it is relevant to the SEO on your site. Today let’s talk about blog commenting and SEO and why it is important.

Before we get into the SEO aspects of blog commenting, we need to understand what blog commenting is.

What is Blog Commenting?

In its simplest form, blogging is writing short posts on your website. These posts are usually called blogs. Blog comments and website comments are interchangeable names for the same process.

And each is the process of getting others to engage with your post. At the same time, the purpose of this engagement is to increase traffic to your site. If a person reads through your post, they may leave a comment.

Not all blogs today allow comments; as a matter of fact, it appears less and less have enabled their comment section. If you follow the post to the bottom, you will see a comment box where you can enter your website and name and then leave a comment.

What Is SEO?

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. In other words, it is the practice of making sure that your content shows up in search engines when you use keywords, and people search for those words.

Why would I want my content to show up in search results?

The answer is simple: You want visitors to find your site. With this in mind, when people search online, they expect to see websites that match their search terms. You won’t get any visitors if you don’t rank high on the search engine results page (SERP).

Why Is Blog Commenting Important?

Blog commenting and its importance are controversial. I am a believer in commenting for different reasons.

First, it allows your followers to share their thoughts and ideas with others interested in the topic. And interact with other people who share similar interests as theirs.

Blog commenting is a way for your readers to interact with you, clarify information, add information and create a bond of trust. Trust is vital and will promote a feeling of comfort between you and your followers.

In addition to this, you are providing value to your potential customers by leaving comments yourself. Which adds credibility to your company and increases your chances of ranking higher in the search engines.

Not to mention blog commenting adds to your post’s word count, increasing the chances of a higher ranking.

Secondly, blog comments create backlinks and lead people to your site, which optimizes your SEO, which we will discuss in the next paragraph.

Blog Commenting And SEO – How Does It Affect Your Ranking?

The SEO aspect of blog commenting is the most important part because it is a great way to produce backlinks. Backlinks in this manner are a 2-fold process. The first involves comments left on your blog by others, and the second is comments you leave on other websites.

What Are Backlinks?

Backlinks will tie your website to another. In other words, the clickable link will take them to another website. If the website owner wants visitors to come to his/her website, then he/she needs to create links to his/her site.

You can accomplish this by allowing comments on your site or creating comments on other sites that relate to the subject matter of your site.

Both types of comments have the potential to create backlinks, but only if you correctly use each.

For instance, it is necessary to moderate all comments others leave on your site. And when you leave comments on other sites, make sure they are relevant, placed on recent posts, and leave your full name. Leave valuable information that adds to the post and be genuine.

Also, only use manual comments, not automatically generate comments because these are considered spam. Google disavows spam comments.

By the same token, creating backlinks will also increase authority which helps you increase traffic to your website.

Why Should You Allow Commenting?

Here are just a few reasons why you should allow blog commenting:

1) Your visitors will become familiar with your brand. In addition, they will know how to contact you, what to expect from you and what kind of products you sell. By having regular interactions with your customers, you create a sense of familiarity, which helps boost sales.

2) People will start trusting you. Once they realize that you are open to interacting with them and giving them valuable content, they will be more likely to buy from you.

5) You will improve your SEO because search engine optimization (SEO) ensures that your site appears at the top of the search results. Blog commenting can help you achieve this goal by creating backlinks.

Benefits And Drawbacks Of Blog Commenting

As with all aspects of affiliate marketing and blogging, there are good and bad parts. Let’s look at these to see if one outweighs the other.

Benefits

  • You can engage with your followers
  • Learn what your readers want and think
  • Builds a rapport with your readers
  • It shows people are reading your post
  • Enhance the SEO of your site
  • Increase traffic
  • Create backlinks

Drawbacks

  • A high volume of spam to weed through
  • Enabling comments allows people to be rude and nasty
  • It looks terrible if there are no comments

The benefits outweigh the drawbacks, so the real question is, what is best for you?

Conclusion

Blogging and comments go hand in hand. However, there are both good and bad aspects to a comment section, but it does add to the site’s SEO.

As I mentioned early, I believe in comments and know they can create a cohesive relationship between bloggers and followers. Not to mention, the SEO effects of comments can increase your website ranking.

If you decide to implement a comment section on your site, make sure you moderate it correctly. Also, don’t forget to include your email address This way, your subscribers will receive notifications whenever you publish new articles.
