What Is MLM (Multilevel Marketing)?
An MLM, or Multilevel Marketing company, is a type of business that relies on its sales force to recruit additional salespeople below them, thus creating a “downline.” They receive a commission on the downline that they’ve recruited into the MLM.
Some people view MLMs as pyramid schemes or get-rich-quick opportunities to make quick money; on the contrary, very few break even and recoup their money.
Who Is Belcorp
Belcorp is an MLM (multi-level marketing) company that sells beauty products, founded in 1968 by Eduardo Belmont. The company is over 50 years old; with this in mind, they are very experienced in marketing, product innovation, sales, and many other business tricks of the trade.
Not to mention they are probably still around after such a long time because of their ability to excel at the MLM model of business is strong.
In addition, Belcorp also owns:” L’bel, esika and cyzone which allows distributors to sell products from 3 separate brands.

Belcorp Products
The company’s main focus is on selling natural and organic beauty products. Belcorp offers various products, including cosmetics, skincare products, hair care, health products such as vitamins, dietary supplements, weight loss aids, wellness products, and personal care products.
As you can see, Belcorp MLM has a wide range of products to promote.
Belcorp MLM Review
They’ve yet to become big here in the US, but their products are selling well in South America Latin countries. They’ve been ranked third among cosmetics companies in Latin America for several years now.
Probably because of the current pandemic, they’re no longer selling through direct mail campaigns and home parties but instead use social media marketing to promote their business opportunities.
Their catalogs feature real Belcorp distributors for modeling purposes instead of using professionally photographed models. It’s really not a bad idea!
They’re interested in helping women succeed financially and giving women back their power.
Concerns
Because Belcorp home base is overseas, most of their websites and information don’t translate into English; likewise, their site has some broken links.
Granted, I was in Mexico on vacation when I wrote this review, but I could not get the website to translate to English on any of the Belcorp brands.
A consultant needs to purchase either for themselves or resale a minimum of $150 a month. Now they can use the products for monthly sales if they choose or keep the products for themselves.
Consultants are making this company money as there are more than 1 million consultants. Let’s do some math, $1300 a year in products purchased by each consultant times 1 million consultants. That calculates to $1,300,000,000 or $1.3 billion per year from the consultant purchase alone. That alone will keep a company in money for a very long time.
Finding any accurate information on the Belcorp MLM business has been a challenge, to say the least. I mean, most of the website and information is in Spanish, and there is no income disclosure, so we don’t know the annual revenue of a Belcorp consultant.
Price To Join Belcorp?
The initial price is $59.99. But I’m kind of left in the dark because I don’t know if you get any business training or skincare & cosmetic products in a kit.
Belcorp Compensation Plan
Initially, the price is $59.99. But that’s not all; if you purchase products monthly, you get to make a commission. But if you don’t buy products, you are not qualified to make money at any of the commission rates. The more products you buy, the higher the commission rate is.
- $150 – $299.99 = 30% commission
- $300 – $449.99 = 35% commission
- $450 – $599.99 = 40% commission
- $600 or more = 50% commission
What’s wrong with this picture? The more you make for the company, the more you earn but most never break even.
To remain commission qualified, they must purchase or sell $150 of product a month.
There are different levels of commission one can make. Let me list just a few for you since we don’t have an image of the compensation plan.
- Recruitment Purchase Bonus – A new recruit who orders at least $400 worth of products from Belcorp during his/her first 3 months gets an additional bonus payment of up to $120.
- Residual Commissions – Quite complicated, but the best I can make out is you get paid a percentage from the top 4 of your downline, anywhere from 7% – 9% on the ones you recruit
- Generation Bonus – A different percentage for the levels of directors, but what generation bonus actually means for you, I can not say because Belcorp is not clear on this level of commissions.
- Coaching Bonus – this seems to be a bonus that goes to the top consultants but again, it is not clear.
There are 4 more levels, but Belcorp does not clearly define who gets paid and how much, so to list them will not help increase the understanding of the compensation plan.
Video Of The Belcorp Compensation Plan
As I stated earlier I am in Mexico at the time of writing this review. But Belcorp is mainly a Mexican company and I am reviewing the American part of the company. At this time, I am unable to find a video in English that talks of the American Belcorp compensation plan.
So in light of this I will not have a video to explain the compensation plan. Not to mention I did not find an image of compensation plan either. Belcorp is not willing to share this information with us.
Update
Once I returned to the U.S. I again looked for a video on the compensation plan. There are not any in English or Spanish from my U.S. browser.
Pros And Cons Of Belcorp MLM
So now that you have the most relevant information, let’s examine the Pros and Cons and determine what the potential truly is.
Pros
- Longevity business spans 5 decades
- Many products to promote
- Their mission statement is to empower women
Cons
- MLM model of business
- Unclear compensation plan
- No income disclosure
- Compensation plan is extremely complicated
- A company unwilling to follow US laws
- Closely resembles a pyramid scheme
- Not a US business
- Have to purchase a monthly quota to qualify for commissions
Belcorp Income Disclosure
Direct sales companies based overseas do not have to have an income disclosure; as a matter of fact, they don’t need one for the US either. In light of this, I could not find any income annual reports for Belcorp.
With this in mind, it is nearly impossible to know who is making what in Belcorp, but since the statistics are against any distributor to make money with an MLM, I would have to say that less than 97% make any money to speak of.
Why Belcorp Does Not Need An Income Disclosure
The FTC allowed David Vladeck, the chief of the Consumer Protection Bureau, to make all MLM companies exempt from requirements to release an income disclosure. Yet some MLMs do release disclosures which, set a standard for all other companies.
A direct selling company such as the Belcorp Multi-level marketing business model may take advantage of the legal exemptions given by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). They recruit distributors based on the absence of facts.
Is Belcorp A Scam?
A scam is a fraudulent business. A company is dishonest in what they offer; with this in mind, I don’t think the products produced by Belcorp are a scam. While some may benefit from the products, on the whole, I do not believe the MLM portion is a scam, but they do border a scam.
Is Belcorp a Pyramid Scheme?
To answer this, I have to go off the definition of a pyramid scheme, and with this in mind, I have to say Belcorp probably is a pyramid scheme.
The definition of a pyramid scheme, according to Wikipedia, is: In a pyramid scheme, an organization compels individuals who wish to join to make a payment. In exchange, the organization promises its new members a share of the money taken from every additional member that they recruit.
Belcorp compensation plan does look a lot like a pyramid scheme and the company as seen from the websites just doesn’t look very honest with the inability to translate to English.

My Recommendations Regarding Belcorp
I do not recommend Belcorp to anyone as a way to make money from home. I don’t recommend any direct sales companies in the MLM industry as a way to support your family or earn extra income.
There is very little information on Belcorp or any of the parts of the Belcorp MLM company.
The website is mainly in Spanish and is suitable for residents of South America but not for those who live in North America.
To me it feels like a Latin American company who tried to break into the US industry and don’t want to follow the rules. Not to mention I would not recommend this company to anyone of any nationality.
