5 Tricks To Increase Blog Traffic
Submit Your Post – #1 Of Tricks To Increase Blog Traffic
Do this step every time without fail. The moment you publish a post, go directly to Google Search Console, and submit the published post URL.
The search engines will index your new post. Without this step, Google will pick up on your latest post in a few days or weeks, but they will index your article within a much shorter period when you submit it.
If all goes well, Google search engine spiders bots will crawl your blog to check out your new content.
To submit your post, you will need to make sure you have signed up for Google Search Console and verify your site. Google Search Console is a free service which will give troubleshooting suggestions and allow you to keep a close eye on your Google rankings.
If you are not familiar with this process, then click on this link. It will prompt you to set up an account and link it to your site.
Follow these screenshots of how to verify your site. You will find the help tab in the right side of your Google console after you sign up.

Steps To Submit URL To Google Search Console
Then you submit the new URL to the “URL inspection” tab in the left dashboard. When Google says “URL is not on google,” you click the “request indexing” tab.

2. Social Bookmarking – #2 Of Tricks To Increase Blog Traffic
Social bookmarking sites are places where you can post your blog and share it with others. The more visibility you have, the more traffic you will get to your website.
Not to mention the backlinks it will create. Google loves valuable backlinks to your blog post. A backlink is a link to another web source that leads back to your site. SEO experts highly recommend backlinks. A backlink can be an internal link to your posts on your site also.
There are many Social bookmarking sites like Twitter, Pinterest, Dribble, Pocket, Digg, Reddit, SlashDot, and We Heart It. All of these are excellent for generating traffic to your blog.
3. Blog Commenting – #3 Of Tricks To Increase Blog Traffic
By commenting on other blogs, you can achieve two goals.
Firstly, you can create backlinks to your blog.
But make sure when you leave a comment, you are allowed to leave your website in a designated space along with the comment. With your website, the backlinks are created.
Secondly, when your comments on the other blogs are useful and interesting, readers from the other blogs will want to see who you are and click on your website link.
Which in turn, increases traffic to your site. Not to mention the owner of the blog you just commented on will want to check out your blog also. Double whammy!
5. Forum Posting – #4 Of Tricks To Increase Blog Traffic
Search for forums related to your niche. Stake out the popular ones. Get to know and understand the lingo and flow of the people in the forum. Then join the ones that may be most helpful and are most like your interests.
Post engaging content in the forum that will help others by solving a problem they may have. Also, answer questions and offer suggestions. Give tips and interact.
Make sure the forums you join allow you to leave a link to your blog. Once again, you are creating backlinks just as you did with commenting and driving traffic to your blog.
One forum I like is Quora. People ask questions. You can comment on them with a link to your site. Be sure to read the rules, so you leave your link according to their guidelines.
You can also write a post and get comments on it. A lot of times, I will see someone put a link to “read more” at the end of their post.
Article Marketing – #5 Of Tricks To Increase Blog Traffic
Article marketing is still alive, but it is one of the oldest systems used to create traffic for your blog. Not to mention, it still very effective if done correctly.
You will want to create 2 or 3 articles that are well-written with valuable rich content and market them to other sites in your niche.

Offer your articles to them free with the request that they link them back to your blog. If they accept your articles, you will have a backlink from a popular site. It is a brilliant idea but one of the most time-consuming ways to generate traffic.
Make sure you do not submit an article that you have posted somewhere else. You don’t want to offer someone duplicate content.
Duplicate content can harm any site and rankings and, in turn, bring your site down. Not to mention submitting duplicate content can destroy your credibility.

Napoleon Hill
Now go out there and increase traffic to bring in the money you deserve for your hard work.
Thank you for your helpful article on how to increase traffic to my blogs.
I am doing some of the tips you recommend. I have never done backlinks and forum posting.
Forum posting is more of my interest…just my thoughts here, it would be a good idea for me to converse in a forum that’s suitable for my blogs. I could get to know some of the members first, get them to feel comfortable with me and understand their language first before I start posting my articles.
I read a lot of info from Quora so I think I will make that my first place to put my blogs in but subtly and not pushy. How many blogs should I put in forums a week?
Good point on making sure to read the forum’s rules. I would love to get backlinks for sure once my relatively new site matures.
Monica
Hi Monica, I am so happy I can be of some help. I agree about Quora. I like the ease of the platform and answering questions as well as posting them. Another platform I recently started using is Medium. It is also quite easy to post on, and you can use parts of a blog post you already have. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Oh wow! I never heard of Medium. Thank you for your quick response and I’ll check that platform right now.
Parts of my blog post…I like that.
You are so welcome Monica, I hope it works out well for you and your success.
I have just started a new site and was thinking about promoting it. I think quora sounds pretty good. Do they have DO follow backlink as those I feel are the hardest to obtain for new bloggers? I like that you have listed several other ways, as well. Google console seems like a step everyone should follow, as Google is where we want to get ranked.
You can build DO follow backlinks from each one of these methods. But you have to make sure the site you are connecting to does not have a no-follow marked on their blog post or website.
Any backlink is challenging to obtain for new bloggers, but if you diversify your methods and use all five suggestions, it will be easier to get do-follow backlinks.
But do be leary of automated backlinks. Google does frown on this type of link building.
Thank you for these great tips. I’ve used most of these at one point or another but only a couple of them on a continued basis.
I really need to get back into forum posting and article marketing. It’s really about time management for me, LOL.
Thanks again. It’s time I get back on track, hold myself accountable and get to work!
Scott
It is time-consuming to use all five tricks to create backlinks. But backlinks are so crucial for SEO ranking. I hope you can get back on track.
